April is the time for Slimming it down and tightening it up!
This month, I've taken to a couple of crazy activities.
I'm currently reading The 4 - Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris (on the sound advice of my business coach - thanks Ali!) and I can say with all sincerity, the book is changing my life.
Can you imagine only checking your emails twice a day? Once a day? Once every two days? What about once a week?
Before I read this book i couldn't imagine such madness! And didn't want ideas like that in my life.
Then, when he explained the concept of avoiding important tasks with unimportant tasks, I suddenly saw where all my time was going.
And you know what?
Yesterday I did everything on my to do list.
And you know what?
Today I have done everything on my to do list.
And guess what I expect from tomorrow?
By accepting that I can't get everything done today, Tim has encouraged me, through his book, to carefully choose what the most important to do's really are. And they get done FIRST!
Thanks Tim!

Work on the latest novel, Forbidden Dreaming
I'm working on a great new novel with Loose-Id called Forbidden Dreaming (no release date yet) and I was having some trouble with plot. I had two really fantastic ideas - at least i thought they were.
One centered around the chilling mystery of the three missing girls and one woman at Hanging Rock here in Australia. The effect the disappearance has on the school the girls attended and the local community is shocking and ultimately devastating. (The book and film are called Picnic at Hanging Rock - check it out here)
The other centered around a forbidden mixed race love affair between a sexy Aboriginal man and an American woman visiting Australia.
So my editor - steering me in the right direction, got me to slim the ideas down, or tighten the ideas up, and before I knew it I had both the above themes working perfectly together.
I'm now roaring through the final draft phases and will be able to let you all know when to expect the release date!
Blogs reach new levels of demand
The comments pages on Why Intelligent Women Read Romance (check it out here) have been getting a bit of a work out lately. Both women and men are openly criticized for all those terrible emotional habits we have that get us into trouble, but what I find most interesting is that the MEN are the ones who get most offended. Why? It's biting for sure, and I don't hold back with the punches, but real life is a little like that isn't it?
I've started a new blog called Barbra Writes (check it out here) that is a fresh look on an old idea of erotic romance. This is simply for tid bits and ideas, book reviews, and ways to find sensuality in your world even if you're single! If you have some good ideas that you'd like to see explored in the blog, pop me an email at barbra(at)barbranovac.com and we can have a chin wag about it.

I'm interviewed in Latte Magazine.
As soon as I can get digital copies of the interview I will send it out to you all, but the upshot is, Business Chicks did a cover story for their magazine called Latte, on Slashies.
What's a slashy you ask?
It's a woman who does several interesting jobs.
Needless to say the erotic romance writer who is also an accountant was high on the list of crazy women they wanted to interview.
So, it's due to come out today. As soon as I have decent E access, I'll send you all images and a link.
In the meantime, check out The Business Chicks and their magazine Latte here.
That's all from me for the time being folks...
Keep reading your romance and keep loving love.
Enjoy!
Barbra
